While most people were switching off and enjoying the Christmas break, our team were working with RailTech Innovations to deliver a major programme of railway engineering works on the East Coast Main Line, supporting the U/B 87 bridge replacement project on behalf of our valued client AmcoGiffen. Project Scope RailTech Innovations were responsible for all signal disconnections and testing activities associated with the works. Our involvement began well in advance of the possession, with the Technotrack management team carrying out detailed site surveys, followed by the production of all required testing plans and site documentation to ensure safe and efficient delivery. During the possession, our experienced Technotrack SMTH testers led all S&T disconnections, overseeing the full programme of reconnections and testing to support a successful hand back. Engineering Works The project involved extensive track and formation works, including:
Delivery & Collaboration The works were delivered through close collaboration between all disciplines on site, maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and programme certainty throughout the Christmas possession. Project Complexity This project has presented significant challenges, not only due to its scale, covering 32 route miles, but also because of the ongoing development and implementation of the new SmartLock interlocking system. Scope of Works To highlight the scale of delivery during the Stage 2 and CSIE build, the works completed include:
Signal Box & Systems Installation In parallel with the extensive trackside works, Technotrack's Systems Installation Team have worked tirelessly within the signal boxes, delivering what effectively became a project in its own right. This included:
The level of skill, coordination, and dedication shown by the systems teams was critical to the programme’s success. Without their expertise within the signal boxes and their ability to deliver within an extremely compressed timeframe, completion of the installation would not have been possible. Bridleway System Upgrade
